The Church of the Covenant believes that we should be in partnership with parents to influence the next generation toward a lasting relationship with Jesus Christ. We strive for programs that are vital, sustainable, and Christ-centered. Our Sunday School and Youth Group include time for learning, fellowship and fun. We discuss current topics from a Biblical perspective. We have a team of caring adults leaders and volunteers who teach and nurture the youth who attend our programs.

Take the Challenge to read your Bible and do devotions every day!
Here’s a cool link to a devo website just for teens

WEDNESDAY WARRIORS!!!  The fall of 2016 opens an entire new chapter of youth ministry at The Church of the Covenant.
Taking a cue from the 9:43 service our anchor verse is Daniel 7:14:

To him was given dominion
and glory and kingship,
that all peoples, nations, and languages
should serve him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion
that shall not pass away,
and his kingship is one
that shall never be destroyed.

This is the One we serve and this is the One to whom we direct our teenagers. We will do so every Wednesday at 7:14 pm in various homes. (Now you see the connection!) We have a great group of adult leaders and several students that have taken on leadership roles as well. That group has chosen the name Warriors for our youth program.

Wednesday Warriors meet as follows:

  • October 5 at Halulko
  • October 12 at Koman
  • October 19 at Hunnel
  • October 26 at Mackie

The Pack the Pickup food drive will take place Saturday, October 15. Stay tuned for more on how you can help.

In addition, the Alumni Bible study has chosen to continue meeting . We now meet every Monday at 5:00 pm in the Youth Lounge.

Confirmation 2017 ~ Dates TBD
Purpose Statement

To have the young people make a public profession of faith in their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  For them to have an active, joyful, faith that is their own. To have them gain an appreciation of the Presbyterian Church, and enjoy fellowship with the members and pastors of The Church of the                Covenant. This will be accomplished through teaching, experiential learning, and fellowship opportunity experienced together and                        facilitated by teachers, advisers, and prayer partners.

In any case, if you are in 9th grade this year, or missed it in a previous year, you are welcome and encouraged to participate.

For any question regarding our youth programs, please contact Don Nixon, Director of Spiritual Development –  email: or call him in the office 724-222-0190 x 111.

The Church of the Covenant is a Christian Church that believes that the family is the most important and fundamental unit of our faith. We believe God has placed a special call in this congregation to reach out to the young families of Washington, and to help them to develop strong family relationships with one and another and with our Lord Jesus Christ.
