9:43 Worship (Contemporary) (rehearsal hiatus for the summer)
Luke wrote a book to a man named Theophilus in order that Theophilus could “…know the certainty of the things…” he had been taught. Luke wanted Ethiopians to be certain about the life, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ. In chapter nine there is an amazing story about a man who has a son. The father tells Jesus “A spirit seizes him and he suddenly screams; it throws him into convulsions so that he foams at the mouth. It scarcely ever leaves him and is destroying him.” Jesus, powerfully and miraculously healed the boy. In response Luke writes this about those who witnessed this act: “And they were all amazed at the greatness of God.”
They were amazed at the authority, power, and love of Jesus. They were amazed because Jesus had taken a life bent on destruction and made it whole.
Every week at the Church of the Covenant we gather to be amazed at the greatness of God. The “9:43” service is our “contemporary” service: meaning we do our best to relay to each other and visitors a timeless message in a new understandable way.
Will you join us? Come and allow your heart to be amazed at the greatness of God Sunday mornings at 9:43 a.m. in the Covenant Center of The Church of the Covenant.
9:43 Worship, 9:43 worship needs you to move it forward. What are we looking for?
Here is a partial list:
- “Techies” (Technological Folk)
- Hospitality Team members
- Any gift you desire to bring to the community!
To get plugged in call the church office 724-222-0190 or speak with Debbie Miles, 943 Music Coordinator, on a Sunday morning. A special note for singers: every Thursday night from 7:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. we “sing through” music. Sometimes we learn new music, sometimes we rehearse old music, we laugh, and we pray together. Even if you do not want to “sing up front” you are invited to come and sing with us. Some may find it a nice time of praising God in the middle of the week.
Come and praise God with us!
